You may have noticed that the Research & Papers section exists, but as of this date it does not have any published entries yet.
That’s intentional.
Alongside my fiction and nonfiction work, I’m building a longer research thread around LitRPG, progression systems, ludonarratology, ludosemiotics, worldbuilding, and system-driven fiction. Some of that work begins as blog posts. Some of it may eventually become formal papers, conference submissions, posters, essays, or longer research projects.
This section is where I’ll collect the more research-focused side of my work.
Not every piece here will be academic in the strictest sense. Some posts may be early notes, framework sketches, terminology experiments, or reflections on how game-like systems shape story, character, society, and meaning. Others may point toward more formal research as the ideas mature.
My main focus right now is still getting DATWD established and moving forward as my main fiction series. But the research thread is part of the same larger project. The stories, systems, essays, guides, and papers all connect.
This category is where that connection will become more visible over time.
